First, I roughly sketch out the design. Then draw it on the computer and break it into shapes. I choose the right paper color for the different shapes (I have a file cabinet filled with colorful cardstock). I use my Cricut, X-acto knife, and my fine mini scissors to cut out the paper shapes. Then I build it, gluing the pieces often with tweezers and my glue that has a super fine tip. Lots of trial and error goes into these pieces. It is very fun to design and build these mini-scenes.
