We reached out to the New Yorker cartoonist again to find out more about her work. First, we were curious about the themes Solomon finds most recurring in her series. The artist told us: “It’s odd because as a parent and teacher, I tend to avoid drawing about parenting and teaching (I guess I talk about those topics so much I don’t want to bore people by also drawing about it. I try to make comics that capture the absurdity of daily life and, by default, the female experience.
