The original poster (OP) starts his story by explaining that he and his wife both work from home and his wife insisted on getting a dog. Despite the man’s protests that they don’t have time, he finally agreed to get a rescue who would be a small, adult dog and would require only a few short walks daily. However, as it was taking quite a while, the wife got the man a present for his birthday: a blue heeler/border collie puppy. OP noted that she’s a beautiful puppy, but it wasn’t what they had agreed on – they don’t have a yard or time for the exercise that the dog needs. As the wife refused to listen to the reasons, the man simply refused to bond with the puppy – he made sure that she was fed and had a few walks but that’s it. Well, it took a few weeks and the wife rehomed the dog to OP’s parents. The community members backed up the man, telling him that his wife’s behavior was immature. “NTA.
