Katarina and I have been friends since elementary school. Our journey began during a 6th-grade project when the two of us were tasked with painting a massive background panel for a school play. While meticulously crafting a landscape with a house, a tree, and a lake, Kat, as I affectionately call her, decided to defy gravity by painting the lake from a bird’s-eye view on a horizontal wall. We became unstoppable, turning thrift store finds into stunning costumes and even dabbling in fashion design.
