One particular faux pas moment took place as Emma Stone experienced a wardrobe malfunction just before accepting her Best Actress Oscar. “My dress is broken,” Emma told the world as she bagged the award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Poor Things.’ Emma, who wore a Louis Vuitton gown to the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, was seen walking on stage with what appeared to be a broken zipper or seam at the back of her dress.

I think it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken.’ I’m pretty sure,’” Emma said, humorously referring to Ryan Gosling’s performance of his song from the Barbie movie. The win gave Emma her second golden statuette in the Best Actress category, seven years after she won in 2017 for her role in La La Land. “Oh, boy, this is really, this is really overwhelming. Sorry. My voice is also a little gone … ” the actress said in her acceptance speech before she went on to mention Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of Poor Things.

It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. And that is the best part about making movies, is all of us together. And I am so deeply honored to share this with every cast member, with every crew member, with every single person who poured their love and their care and their brilliance into the making of this film,” Emma continued. “And Yorgos, thank you for the gift of a lifetime in Bella Baxter. I am forever thankful for you. Thank you for inviting all of us to be members of this team. Thank you,” she added.

I love you so much. And most importantly, my daughter, who’s gonna be three in three days and has turned our lives technicolor. I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl. So thank you so much,” she said in her emotional speech. “Don’t look at the back of my dress. Thank you,” the actress humorously concluded before walking off stage. While she was backstage, she spoke to reporters about how Ryan’s performance had her “going for it.” “I was so amazed by Ryan and what he was doing, and that number just blew my mind,” she said. “They sewed me back in, which was wonderful,” she added.
