Bored Panda got in touch with Joachim to find out more about his work. We were wondering if he could share a memorable experience or encounter he’s had while photographing wildlife. We learned that: “My first successful fox picture might just be the most memorable experience I’ve had so far, simply because it took me so long to capture it. The year was 2017, and I had just started getting into photography. I set myself the challenge of capturing an image of a fox. Summer had just begun, and I learned that a fox was spotted at Seurasaari in Helsinki. I began rising before dawn, around 3 am, as the sun rose at 4 am during the summer in southern Finland. Every morning, I ventured to Seurasaari with my camera, searching for the elusive fox. The first week yielded no results, but after about a week of searching, I caught a glimpse of the fox for the first time. That glimpse reignited my hope that I might succeed eventually.” More info: Instagram I began to lose hope, questioning whether all this effort was worth it, whether I was just wasting my time and wouldn’t get any worthwhile photos. Despite these doubts, I decided to make one last trip to Seurasaari one evening.” My body filled with adrenaline, my hands shaking. This was my chance after months of trying. I began snapping pictures, and to my surprise, the foxes didn’t seem afraid of me. They moved under a rowan tree, and one of them looked straight into the camera. I took numerous photos of the scene, and after a while, the foxes dashed away.” He also added: “Additionally, animals are often quite skittish, so they tend to get scared if they spot you.” It also has the ability to inspire individuals to take action and make positive changes in their lives to support conservation efforts. It’s a powerful tool for raising awareness and inspiring positive change and conservation action.” Follow Bored Panda on Google News! Follow us on Flipboard.com/@boredpanda!
